Abstract:
Introduction: The spine is a very important part of the skeletal framework of the body that is S-shaped. This pillar is the main support for the body in various activities and plays a major role in maintaining body alignment. Identifying spinal abnormalities and assessing the physical condition of people in the community with accurate and reliable tools is of great importance. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of Microsoft Kinect tool in spine arch evaluation.
Materials and Methods: The present study is a descriptive study and for this purpose, 44 athletes aged 20 to 42 years in Rasht who were purposefully selected participated in this study. Microsoft Kinect tool was used to evaluate the arch of the spine. The spine arch was measured in three steps with an interval of 15 minutes.
Pearson correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the measurements obtained from Microsoft Kinect (to evaluate validity) and intragroup correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the reliability of kyphosis and lordosis measurements. The results showed that the measurements obtained from Microsoft Kinect have moderate validity (kyphosis r = 0.407 and lordosis r = 0.396) but the reliability within the tester of this device was very high (kyphosis and lordosis ICC = 0.998 / 0.998) to Was obtained.
Conclusion: According to the studies and results of the present study, Microsoft Kinect tool for measuring the direction of the spine and the angle of kyphosis and loading is a reliable and reliable tool, safe to use, very simple and highly stable, which can be Also used in the above examples.
