Abstract
Objective: University and sports are two institutions with an international and constructive position in the interactions of countries. The capacities of these two sectors in neighboring countries can also have more capacity and stability. The purpose of this study was to investigate and recognize the role of Iraqi sports science students studying in Iranian universities on the future relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Methodology: The research method is a systematic qualitative exploratory type based on interviews. Research participants include professors of sports science from Iranian and Iraqi universities; Iraqi students and graduates graduated with a degree in sports science from Iranian universities and were experts in international relations at the Iranian-Iraqi academic and sports academy. The sample of interview participants was estimated in terms of theoretical saturation (24 people) and was purposefully sampled. The validity of the research tools and their results were confirmed by controlling the competence of the selected sample, the content validity of the interview framework by experts and the degree of agreement of the coding proofreaders.
Results: According to the results, the role of Iraqi sports students studying in Iranian universities on the future of sports relations between the two countries depends on how students are employed in the Iraqi sports body and their communication network and social capital in sports universities of Iranian universities. Relationships and collaborations in the fields (types of employment of graduates) educational, research, technology, information, organizational, media, business, club, tourism, culture and diplomacy related to sports can be predicted and examined Their specialized areas were also identified.
Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it can be said that student education in the field of sports science can be one of the most important and most powerful academic and sports relations between Iraq and Iran, and if as a human capital It can lead to constructive relations and lasting cooperation in the fields of academia and sports between the two countries.
