The effect of eight weeks of aerobic training on the stress of male police officers in Greater Tehran

Abstract:
Background and Aim: Stress is one of the epidemic issues that all human beings are involved in according to their profession and position and its scope of influence in individual and organizational life is very wide. Police staff also according to the situation Jobs themselves have a lot of job stress. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of eight weeks of aerobic training on the stress of male police officers in Greater Tehran.
Research Method: The research method is quasi-experimental and the statistical population of the study was male police officers of Greater Tehran and the statistical sample consisted of 60 people in two experimental and control groups of 30 people each. Exercise was completed by the participants in the study and its scores were recorded. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire had been reviewed and confirmed in several previous studies. Independent t-test was used to analyze the data to compare the rate of changes in job stress of its components in the experimental and control groups.
Findings: There was a relationship between aerobic exercise and stress control and work pressure of male employees of Greater Tehran Police (F = 11.19 and P = 0.001). Also, there was a relationship between aerobic exercise and life health stress control (F = 15.23 and P = 0.000) was observed. There is also a relationship between aerobic exercise and the amount of stress control of personal life (F = 9.57 and P = 0.003). The result of the last hypothesis showed that there was a relationship between aerobic exercise and the degree of stress control of individual personality and mental habits (F = 1.04 and P = 0.003).
Results: The research findings showed that exercise intervention under the stress scales including work stress, life health stress, personal life stress and personal personality stress was effective. According to the research results, it is suggested that police managers pay special attention to sports and physical activity in order to reduce stress in staff planning.
