Abstract |
Introduction: with spread of Covid-19 pandemic, the importance of virtual learning has been increased in educational institutions Objective: The aim of this study was to study the effect of social capital dimensions on virtual learning intention of sport science students. Method: This study was a descriptive-survey and practical one. A researcher-developed questionnaire fulfill the research objectives. To collect data, the questionnaire designed by 5-point Likert scale was used; the questionnaire was comprised of 30 items. The questionnaire was found to be both valid and reliable (Choronbach’s alpha = 0.86). The research population involved all sport science students in Iran. According to a pilot study, a sample of 225 students was selected through purposive sampling. To measure the validity and fitness of the model, structural equations modeling (SEM) has been applied, and based on direction analysis the relationships of variables were verified. AMOS18 and SPSS18 were used for data analysis. Results: Findings indicated that all dimensions of social capital (Social cohesion, Social Network and Participation, Capacity to accept criticism, Social interaction, and Reliability) had a positive and significant effect on virtual learning intention of sport science students. According to the findings, improving social capital can be critical in the process of developing virtual learning strategies in sport science educational system. Conclusions: The results of this research can be considered by researchers and managers in the field of human resources, knowledge management, information technology management, education and educational management in the field of sports. It is suggested to compare traditional organizational learning methods with virtual learning methods and evaluate the effectiveness of each of these methods in future research. The study of technical and administrative infrastructure as well as barriers to the development of virtual learning in sports education field can also be of great importance. |
