Background and Objective: Confinement is one of the most important measures to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 virus, but its serious consequences are decreased physical activity, changes in body composition and weight gain and the effects of inactivity. Students are excluded from social activities due to coronary artery and are at risk for disease and weight gain. Prolonged stay at home is associated with increased inactivity and behaviors such as spending too much time sitting, lying down or lying down while watching TV, using laptop phones, which leads to reduced regular physical activity and reduced daily calorie intake, weight gain, Increases body mass index and increases the risk of chronic and metabolic diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the level of physical activity, weight changes and body mass index of students during the corona pandemic. Methods: For this study, 30 articles from PubMed, science direct databases were reviewed and keywords of physical activity, Covid-19, body composition, obesity and students were used. Results: Numerous studies have reported significant weight gain and changes in body mass index and changes in physical activity levels during pandemics and holidays in students. Overall, the results showed that weight gain and changes in body composition and increased food intake during quarantine were associated with the following factors: staying at home, distance education, not going to school, financial status, and distance from friends. Conclusion: Decreased regular physical activity and increased daily calorie intake and weight gain, increased body mass index, which increase the risk of or exacerbate cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. In order to protect students, health care providers should highlight the risk of obesity and propose prevention strategies, including parental involvement and a KOCH plan (student weight and obesity control) in education. |
