Abstract
With the spread of the virus and the closure and banning of sports centers, clubs and parks and staying at home for long periods of time can be a significant challenge to physical activity. Therefore, inactivity and low physical activity can have detrimental effects on health, well-being and quality of life of people, especially adolescents. Parents are considered as the most important reference group for children and their behavior and attitude towards physical activity can be an important factor in children's tendency to physical activity in leisure time. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the effect of parental participation in physical activity on the enjoyment of physical activity: The mediating role of parental support for physical activity in junior high school students in Ardabil. The present study is a descriptive correlational study based on structural equation modeling in which the data were collected in the field and through a questionnaire. The statistical population of this study consisted of all female high school students in Ardabil, which was a statistical sample of 342 people and was considered a simple random. Lee et al.'s (1997) Parental Involvement Scale, Children's Perception of Wilk et al.'s ('s) Parental Support (2018), and Stevens et al.'s (2000) Leisure Enjoyment Scale were used. Structural equation modeling with partial least squares approach and version 3 of Smart Pls software were used to analyze the data. The results showed that parents 'participation in physical activity had a significant positive relationship with students' leisure time during the Corona Panama. Parents 'social support for physical activity has no significant relationship with students' enjoyment of leisure time during the Corona Panama. Parents' participation in physical activity has a significant positive relationship with parents' social support of students' physical activity during the Corona Panama. Parents 'social support for physical activity does not play a significant mediating role in the relationship between participation in physical activity and students' enjoyment of leisure time during the Corona Panama.
