Abstract:
Background
COVID-19 represent the biggest challenge to contemporary community sport globally in it’s pandemic duration. Compliance with strict return-to-play protocols, and COVID-19 specific training has, may be, forever changed the way of engaging in public and professional sport clubs
Aim
This study aims to investigate how the COVID-19 pandemic has influence youth sport participation in two public and professional sport clubs.
Methods
In this study within interpretive descriptive methodology, qualitative investigation ,with individual interview on statistical samples; 107 youth adults (ages 12–18), parents, coaches, and sport administrators during March 4 th _11 th, 2021 in Iran, had been investigate. Descriptive tests, Spearman correlation coefficient were used and all statistical operations were performed using SPSS software version 23. A analysis was undertaken, leading to the development of three substantive themes .
Results
Results shows that young- adult participation in public and professional sport clubs has linear relationship with COVID-19 pandemic effects, such as; social distancing policies, strict return-to-play protocols, and COVID-19 specific training items. Specifically in professional sport clubs participation, it predicted COVID-19 specific training negatively, that affects sport events (p<0/01). People who participate in public clubs was more likely to maintain their routine attendance than professional ones, may be under the supervision of professional training conditions in Covid-19 pandemic.
Conclusion
The findings provide insight into the youth sport setting as a result of the global pandemic in public and professional sport clubs participants .As shows in results three main items obviously affects sport events by influence in participation, specially in professional sport clubs.Surely society participation in public clubs in COVID-19 pandemic is important for community health. This study suggests that sporting clubs and sporting organizations require additional resources and tools (for example, support for private coach to facilitate training during lockdown) to ensure the survival and prosperity of youth sport into the future.
