Analysis of the superstitions of football and futsal athletes in Kerman

Abstract:
Superstitions have long been ingrained in human societies. Despite all human progress in various scientific and social fields, superstitious beliefs and behaviors are still seen in all societies and countries. Sport as one of the most important human activities is not far from this phenomenon and many athletes tend to superstitions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the superstitions of football and futsal athletes in Kerman. In the present study, the research method is descriptive based on the applied purpose and in terms of field position. The statistical population of the study is 110 football players and 90 futsal players and a total of (200) people. The basis of stratified sampling is to observe the ratio of each group of society in the sample. Using Morgan table and according to the size of the statistical population, 136 people were randomly assigned to the two groups of football and futsal athletes. The instrument of the present study was Derakhshan Standard Questionnaire (2015) which had the necessary validity and reliability. To determine the reliability of the research instrument was estimated using Cronbach's alpha (0.87). Data analysis of this research has been done at both descriptive and inferential levels. The research method was correlational and statistical tests including (one-sample t-test, independent t-test and Friedman test) at a significant level of 0.05 and Excel and SPSS software were used. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the observed and hypothetical means of superstitions of football and futsal athletes in Kerman (P <0.01, t = 6.84).
