Abstract:
Background: Neck problem is significant issue all over the world. One of the most important problems is Upper Cross Syndrome. So, training the person who wants to use stabilizing muscles for retraining the sense of depth, function and endurance of the neck muscles in people with upper extremity syndrome is the key role. For this purpose, Effect of Eight Weeks Stabilization Exercise on Neck Proprioception, Function and Muscle Endurance in Volleyball Athletes with Upper Cross Syndrome was studied.
Methods: 31 female volleyball players with upper extremity syndrome participated in this study. So, in this study two groups of training (N=15) and control (N=16) were selected. In the Pre-test and post-test, Deep sense of the neck Cervical angle reconstruction test was used. In other words, Performance Capacity Assessment (FCE) was used for exploring performance evaluation. YBT_UQ method was used to evaluate upper limb function and Edmonson method was used to evaluate of endurance of neck extensions and flexors. So, Analysis of variance with repeated measures was used to evaluate the interactive effect of time on the group and Paired T and independent T at the significance level α ≤ 0.05 and SPSS 22 version was used.
Results: The results showed that the interactive effect of time on the group is significant in the variables of profundity, function and endurance of flexor and extensor muscles of the neck. The results of paired t-test and independent t-test showed the difference between depth sense (P <.05), performance (P <.05) and endurance of flexor and extensor muscles of the neck (P <.05) of volleyball players with upper cross syndrome. There are significant differences between the test and post-test groups of the stabilizing exercises compared to the control group.
Conclusion: According to the results, stabilizing exercises can improve the depth, function and endurance of the neck muscles of volleyball players with upper cross syndrome.
