Abstract |
Background: Considering the significant number of delayed sports development projects in the country, and failure to review the negative results of these projects, it is necessary to study the development dimensions of these projects. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of delays in sports construction projects on the dimensions of development. Methodology: The statistical population of the study included professors of sports management in Tehran universities, managers and officials of the Ministry of Sports and experts of the Sports Facilities Development and Equipment Company, 200 of whom were selected randomly as a sample. 175 complete questionnaires (including 65 females and 110 males) were used for analysis. Instrument of the research was self – administrator questionnaire that face and content validity of the questionnaire by 7 experts and specialists by Lawshe model (CVR = 0.84), stricture validity by Confirmatory factor and and internal consistency of the questionnaire by Cronbach's alpha was confirmed. Inferential statistics, one-sample t-test and analysis of variance were used using SPSS20 and Amos statistical software. Results: The results showed that delays in sports development projects have an effective role on various dimensions of development (sports development, economic development, cultural and social development and political development). This delay had the greatest impact on sports development (4.826), political development (4.011), cultural and social development(4.956), and finally economic development (3.856), respectively. Conclusion: Therefore, the authorities can prevent the harmful effects of these projects on various aspects of development with proper planning in order to reduce delays in sports development projects. |
