Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to study the effect of sports orientation on selected and non-selected women in volleyball competitions in Jiroft. The data collection tool was a standardized questionnaire of sports motivation whose validity was confirmed by Shafizadeh (2006) and its reliability was estimated and confirmed using Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.83. The statistical population of the study consisted of all women volleyball players in Jiroft who participated in the trainings of this team to be sent to provincial competitions. The number of these people was 30 and due to the limited population, all of them were selected as a sample in a ka sampling. Of these, 12 people became members of the team and formed the selected sample, and the remaining 18 people were included in the non-selected sample. The collected data were analyzed using independent t-test and K-S test was used to investigate the distribution of data. Target orientation as one of the components of sports orientation emphasizes on individual performance and in fact focuses on personal goals in sports and evaluates success over individuals. Slave people are more inclined to win competitions and as a result .. process, they also put more effort into winning and are more active in training. Such an explanation seems to justify the difference between tolerant motivation between elected and unelected women. The component of sports orientation confirms that selected women are superior to non-selected women in terms of competitiveness, desire for victory, and goal orientation.
