Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of emotional intelligence on learning volleyball set skill by the Cooperative learning method. The research method is quasi-experimental in which 24 female junior high school students were available in one of two groups: 1. People with low emotional intelligence , 2. People with high emotional intelligence. Subjects participated in the acquisition, retention and transition tests after pre-testing and passing the acquisition course in an educational environment using a cooperative learning method. The measuring instruments were the Goleman Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (2001) and the French-Cooper volleyball test. In data analysis , first with the help of the descriptive statistics , mean and standard deviation , and in the inferential statistics section to test the research hypotheses , repeated measures analysis of variance and combined analysis of variance at a significance level of 0.05 were used. Findings indicate that there is a significant difference between the rate of acquisition , retention and transition of volleyball set skill in a participatory manner in people with high and low emotional intelligence; So that in the stages of acquisition, retention and transition of the group of people with high emotional intelligence, the highest and the group of people with low emotional intelligence, the lowest score in this skill. Therefore , it is important to pay attention to the role of students' emotional intelligence in teaching volleyball set skill. In addition, the cooperative learning method seems to be a good way to use it during exercise hours.
