Abstract:
Introduction: The issue of management in identifying sports talent in the country has always been one of the most controversial and important issues, and the performance of domestic managers has been very different from its foreign counterparts. Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify the effective management factors in the process of sports talent identification in the country, which sports managers create, and accompany athletes from the most initial stage (identification) to the end of this process (championship). Methodology: The present study was a qualitative method, and the statistical population included professors, managers, and experts in sports management. The research sample consists of 13 sports professors and managers of the country who have been selected by the purposive sampling method. Results: The obtained results indicate several obstacles such as cross-sectional consequentialism of sports managers (only winning medals in international games, primarily Olympic and world), lack of attention to educational sports (non-priority of sports teachers and disregard for teachers' salaries), lack of attention to Public sports (no budget allocated to this part of the sports industry), economic view of sports (only seeking to earn money from sports competitions and leagues), lack of integration of sports organizations in the country (difference of opinion between the Ministry of Sports, National Committee Olympics, sports federations, municipalities, the Ministry of Science and the Ministry of Education), the lack of priority in the nature of sports (instrumental use of sports), the lack of a comprehensive talent management model in the country (using personal tastes to perform assigned tasks) and lack of action to The plans which have been made (ignoring the various dimensions of the project), each of which has its own sub-branches. Conclusion: To determine this proposal, a comprehensive management model for talent identification at the macro level must be set and implemented according to the culture and behavioral characteristics of the Iranian people. Also, concerning the implementation of this model, integrated monitoring should be done because several talent identification management models have been set in Iran, but it has been ignored in the implementation process, and the result has not been favorable.
