Abstract
Sport has emerged as one of the most important social institutions and has found great value and importance in the world. Sport is recognized as a contributing factor to economic activity and wealth creation as a significant part of emotions at the individual organizational and national levels. Accordingly, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between the job attachment of coaches and the recruitment of athletes with the mediating role of sports ethics of sports coaches in Ardabil. The present study was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational in terms of data collection. The statistical population of the study included all sports coaches in Ardabil province. A total of 111 instructors (74% of the statistical sample) completed the questionnaires. The research instruments included the job attachment questionnaire of sports coaches Edwards and Kilpatrick (1984) and the sports ethics questionnaire of Eidi et al. (2016) whose validity and reliability were confirmed. Data analysis by partial least squares method, which includes the study of measurement models (Cronbach's alpha, hybrid reliability, convergent and divergent validity) and structural model fitting (factor load coefficients, significance of path coefficients and coefficient of determination and model prediction index), occurred. The results showed that the proposed research model has a good fit. There is a direct and significant relationship between job attachment and athlete recruitment; Also, 20.2% of the effect of job attachment on the recruitment of athletes is indirectly explained by the mediating variable of sports ethics of coaches.
