Abstract:
Objective: Chronic non-specific low back pain is one of the most common causes of absenteeism. Hydrotherapy is one of the treatment methods for these patients. To evaluate the effect of six weeks of water therapy movement on pain, disability and dynamic balance in women with chronic low back pain.
Methods: The participants of this quasi-experimental study were selected from women aged 20 to 40 years referred to the orthopedic clinic available to the researcher. A total of 24 women with chronic low back pain were selected and randomly divided into two groups of 12 control and experimental. The research instruments included two standard questionnaires of Quebec pain and ossoster disability. The validity of these questionnaires in measuring low back pain and disability was confirmed and their reliability was reported to be 0.84. A modified star test (Y balance test) was also used to measure dynamic equilibrium. In order to analyze the data, SPSS19 software and dependent and independent student t-tests were used at a significant level of 0.05.
Results: The results showed that the application of exercise program in water environment can reduce pain and improve performance and improve balance in women with low back pain compared to the control group (P≤0.05).
Also, there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test data in pain, performance and dynamic balance in the experimental group (P≤0.05).
Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, the use of six weeks of exercise in water has a positive effect on improving pain, disability and balance in patients with chronic low back pain. Therefore, women with chronic low back pain are recommended hydrotherapy to improve the disease. Take advantage of yourself.
