The effects of a specific exhaustive wrestling exercise session on physiological and Hematological parameters among elite adult wrestlers

Abstract:
I ntroduction: sport Specific exercises depend on type, intensity and duration of variables training, which can cause various adaptations and hematological responses that are important to be successful at professional sport levels. The Purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a special session of exhaustive wrestling exercise on the response of hematological parameters in adult elite free style wrestlers. Material&method: fifteen free style wrestler with anthropometric characteristics of (age 26 ± 1.3 years, weight 68.5 ± 3.1 kg, height 177 ± 1.2 cm, body mass index 21.8 ± 0.3(kg/m2), body fat percent 6.3 ± 0.23) participated in this study voluntarily. Subjects were asked to perform specific wrestling training for 60 min. for the compare of mean changes of hematological parameters (WBC, RBC, HCT, HGB, PLT, PV, MC, MCH, MCHC,) blood samples were taken at three stages: before (fasting state), after and 3 h of recovery time after exercise. After descriptive statistics, collected data were analyzed by using repeated measurements (ANOVA one-way) and Bonferroni correction tests. Results: The findings of this study showed that the values of RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCHC, MCH were significantly decreased (p<0.05). While non- significant changes were observed in (WBC, PLT and plasma volume) variables (p˃0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that a specialized exhaustive wrestling training can be as particularly stimulus to significant changes on hematologic response. So, monitoring of exercise variables and biochemical factors is very important in order to have a positive adaptation and optimal performance in wrestlers.
