Introduction: Physical exercise is one of the main focuses of scientists and politicians on public health. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between nutritional knowledge and level of physical activity with body measurement and physiological characteristics of male physical education and non-physical education students. Statistical population: The present research design is descriptive-correlation with a questionnaire. The study population consisted of students of Kurdistan University, from which 100 physical education and non-physical education students were selected as the sample of the present study. After completing questionnaires related to nutrition knowledge (Kleiman) and level of physical activity (Beck), the subjects attended the Sports Physiology Laboratory of Kurdistan University. Then anthropometric indices including fat percentage, subcutaneous fat (5 points), body mass index and waist to pelvis ratio were measured. After the process of measuring the mentioned variables, the results were analyzed in the form of Excel software through SPSS software version 25. Results: The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant indirect relationship between nutrition knowledge, physical activity levels with BMI, WHR and fat percentage in physical education students (P /0 0.05). However, there was a significant indirect relationship between nutrition knowledge and level of physical activity with anthropometric characteristics, with the exception of WHR, among non-physical education students (P 05 0.05). The results related to the variables of static strength and aerobic power also show a significant direct relationship between the level of physical activity with static strength and aerobic power in physical education and non-physical education students and a non-significant relationship between nutritional knowledge and static power and aerobic power in non-physical students. Was physical education (P 05 0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results, it can be said that physical education students probably have better anthropometric and physiological characteristics than non-physical education students due to their high nutritional knowledge and levels of physical activity. |
